Pine Gables Cabins & Hurricane Helene
What You Need to Know

For the most up-to-date information about Lake Lure, please visit the Town of Lake Lure’s Facebook Page.

Pine Gables Cabins are currently open for business. We are still a wonderful place for a romantic getaway! If you need to work in the area, are a contractor or need to stay close to your home while it is being repaired, Pine Gables is also the place for you.

PLEASE NOTE:
he construction at our lakefront to remove sediment from the lake from Hurricane Helene has finished! We are very grateful for the work the Corps of Engineers and their subcontractors have done, but we are equally happy that the Beep! Beep! and engine noise have stopped. The lake will remain lowered until Spring, but that happens many years anyway. Our cozy romantic cabins are now peaceful all day.

Book with us between now and January 1st, 2026 and use the discount code HELENE to get $30 off per night! The discount will be active until the first of next year and it is good for any booking between now and the end of 2026.

Our Cabins were unscathed but our lakefront and ponds do have damage that will take some time to remedy. Please keep in mind, all of Chimney Rock Village and parts of Lake Lure were severely damaged by the storm, but most of the restaurants in Lake Lure and a few in Chimney Rock have reopened. A few other restaurants and shops from The Village of Chimney Rock are currently located at the WNC Main Street at Tryon International. A perfect place to do some gift shopping! The lake is now closed to boat traffic until all the lake debris is cleared. Chimney Rock Park is now open! Heavy equipment is operating in both towns, so be careful while driving. Because of the cleanup operations here, there may be heavy equipment nearby. Power is consistent, water and plumbing are fully back online and the Wi-Fi is working.

The primary appeal of our cabins has always been the natural beauty of the area and the opportunity to disconnect from day-to-day life. While our town has been hit hard, the beauty of the area remains. Also, please note that the Army Corps of Engineers are currently removing debris and silt from the lake. This will, at times, create noise and require the lake to be lower than normal. Autumn is an amazing time of year to visit our area – please consider doing so now that we are open and ready to host you!

We have fuel, food, and supplies all available in Lake Lure as well as several other areas nearby (Rutherfordton, Columbus, Saluda, Tryon) to support your visit.

The best thing to do to aid in the recovery of our scenic little town is to support the local businesses and residents that maintain the cabins. Please come see us!

All roads into Lake Lure from the east and south are in good condition and open to traffic. Roads to the west and north are currently closed. Google and Apple Maps are not reliable and show several road closures that are not accurate (Some road closures are shown for local traffic only, which would be you).

Please email pinegables@aol.com with your reservation questions and we will make sure you're taken care of. Please give us additional time to respond, however, as we are also juggling personal recovery efforts and those of our community.

Email is our preferred method of communication.

We also have a GoFundMe site for Pine Gables. Your donations will go directly toward the restoration efforts of Pine Gables, helping us to: Remove fallen trees. Rebuild our lake access and docks. Restore the ponds and irrigation system crucial to our property’s integrity. Replace lost equipment.
